Country Boots
Not every day on the yard is a riding day.
Not every day on the yard is a riding day. Country boots are built for everything else, mucking out, leading, dog walks and muddy winter fields, with waterproof uppers and grippy soles that keep you sure-footed.
Choose ankle boots for lighter yard duties or taller styles for deep mud and wet ground, and look for a cushioned footbed if you are on your feet all day.

Waterproofing that lasts
Look for genuinely waterproof construction rather than merely water-resistant, and reproof leather and textile uppers periodically to keep feet dry through the winter.
Grip for mud
A deep, lugged sole makes a real difference on wet, muddy ground. Consider how and where you will wear them, a yard sole and a hill-walking sole are designed for different jobs.
All-day comfort
If you spend hours on your feet, prioritise a cushioned, supportive footbed and a padded collar. The right fit prevents rubbing over a long day.
Country Boots: your questions answered
Country boots are designed for yard and countryside use, not riding. For safety, ride in proper riding boots with a defined heel and a smooth sole that will not catch in the stirrup.
Clean off mud, dry them naturally and apply a suitable reproofing treatment for the upper material at the start of each wet season and as needed.
