Choosing well
Start with fit and safety
A correctly fitted riding hat is the one essential every rider needs, ideally fitted professionally. From there, comfortable breeches and good boots make the biggest difference to how you ride.
Dress in layers
A wicking base layer, a mid layer and a waterproof adapt to changing weather far better than a single heavy coat, and let you shed layers as you warm up.
Buy for the discipline
Different disciplines have their own dress codes and kit. If you compete, check your governing body's current rules so your clothing is both smart and permitted.
